NSR66-BD3 Belt Damage Detector
NSR66-BD3 Belt Damage Detectorswitch is a conveyor safety accessory designed to interlock with conveyor shut down systems in the event of a damaged belt.
Uses and Applications:
NSR66-BD3 Belt Damage Detector warns supervisory personnel of impending belt failures due to rips, punctures, splice failures, and sharp objects protruding through the belt carcass.
Belt damage detectors are mounted in pairs on both sides of the moving conveyor belt. The units are connected with two spans of aircraft cable. One side of the cable is mounted to a support bracket. The other side is connected to a spring-loaded ball located on the detector.
The cables are looped underneath the belt from each side and crossing at the midpoint.
Safety Features:
As the cable is detached, it pulls a spring-loaded ball out of a socket, causing the activation of two microswitches.
The first one is for the annunciation of a PLC or alarm system. The second one is to shut down the conveyor belt, lessening the potential damage that might be implicated without this type of detection.
Certifications and Standards:
The microswitch used in products is VDE approved. All KBT Electric products are produced in accordance with CE and EAC standards.
